Transitional Housing

Individuals and families can experience housing instability for many reasons, including job loss, health challenges, domestic violence, substance use disorders, or other personal crises. Without a strong support system, even those who were once fully self-sufficient can find themselves facing homelessness. Transitional housing provides a vital bridge by offering safe, stable accommodations along with supportive services designed to help individuals regain stability and independence.

Our goal is to provide temporary housing in a safe and supportive environment while equipping residents with the tools, resources, and guidance needed to build a sustainable future. Through access to life skills training, education, mental health support, and other essential services, participants are empowered to work toward long-term housing stability and financial independence.

Lifting Up STL is proud to announce plans for a new transitional housing development made possible by a generous donation of a residential lot in Affton. Architectural plans will be shared soon as this exciting project moves forward.

Honoring the Legacy of Judy Lowe

On behalf of our entire organization, we are deeply moved and profoundly grateful for the extraordinary gift given by the Lowe family: the donation of a home in honor of their beloved wife and mother, Judy Lowe. This act of generosity is a remarkable tribute to a woman who clearly dedicated her life to serving others with compassion, humility, and love.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Judy speak of her with deep admiration and affection. She was someone who lived with purpose, always seeking ways to make a difference in the lives of those around her. Whether volunteering countless hours at Seven Holy Founders events, faithfully delivering meals each Friday through Meals on Wheels, or giving her time weekly at the Ronald McDonald House, Judy served others not out of obligation, but from a genuine desire to help. Her generosity was not something she occasionally did; it was simply who she was.

As her family so beautifully shared, “She is missed in lots of places and in lots of hearts.” There may be no greater testament to a life well lived than to have touched so many people so deeply. Through this incredible gift, Judy’s legacy will continue in a powerful and lasting way. The home donated in her honor will serve as transitional housing, providing hope, stability, and support to individuals and families as they rebuild their lives. It will stand as a living reminder that one person’s kindness can truly change the world, one life, one meal, one act of compassion at a time.

We are honored to steward this gift and committed to ensuring that Judy Lowe’s spirit of service and love continues to shine brightly for all who walk through its doors.

To the Lowe family, thank you for your trust, your generosity, and for allowing us to carry forward Judy’s remarkable legacy in this way.
