Gery Gorla

Board Member

Gery Gorla is a retired business executive who spent 39 years with Spire (formerly Laclede Gas). Over the course of his career, Gery held several management positions and retired as Chief Human Resources Officer, a role he held from 2016 until his retirement in January 2025.

Before leading Spire’s HR team, Gery oversaw the successful integration of the company’s utility acquisitions, which more than doubled its customer base and tripled its enterprise value.

A native of The Hill neighborhood in South St. Louis, Gery is a proud graduate of St. Louis University High School (SLUH ’82). He earned a business degree from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Saint Louis University.

Gery served on Spire’s Executive Committee and Corporate Social Responsibility Steering Committee. He has also been an active member of his community, serving for many years as a basketball coach and lay director at Seven Holy Founders Parish.

In retirement, Gery enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his four adult children and four grandchildren alongside his wife, Christina.
